#1 Exfoliate
You can either buy an exfoliating scrub or make one at home with plain sugar and olive oil. Make sure your hands are dry and massage the scrub into the cuticles and on all rough patches. Take your time and spend at least 30 seconds per finger. Wash with lukewarm water.

#2 Moisturise
Immediately after exfoliating, apply generous quantities of a good moisturiser like Olay Moisturising Lotion on your damp hands. If you’re doing this before going to bed, wear gloves to keep the moisture locked in for a long time.

#3 Humidifier
Invest in a good humidifier that will keep moisture levels balanced in your house. This is especially required in winter and in places with a dry climate.

#4 Protect your hands
Wear gloves to avoid coming in contact with harsh soaps, and mud and grime while gardening. Wear gloves even while working out in the gym. The heavy weights can cause calluses and rough skin.

#5 Pure coconut oil
The fatty acids present in coconut oil are magical on your hands. Massage your hands with the oil and cover your hands with gloves for a few hours.

#6 Aloe Vera
One of nature’s miracle elements, aloe vera moisturises, nourishes and also forms a protective layer that prevents moisture from escaping. Massage it in and do not rinse your hands for a while afterwards.

#7 Lemon and glycerine
Lemon works as a cleanser while glycerine softens and moisturises the skin. Mix equal parts and massage the solution into your hands. Wash it off with lukewarm water and gently pat dry.

#8 Honey
After you’ve washed your hands, while they are still slightly damp, massage honey into the skin, taking care to focus on your cuticles. After 5 minutes, rinse your hands with lukewarm water. If you want, you can apply a moisturiser.

#9 Milk cream
The cream (malai) that forms on boiled milk is an excellent way to pamper dry hands. Rub in some fresh milk cream onto your hands, massaging it for 10-15 minutes. Let it sit for some time and wash it off with lukewarm water. Do this daily for the best results.

#10 Yogurt
The lactic acid in curd works as a natural cleanser and exfoliates your hands too. Take a spoonful of fresh yogurt and massage your hands with it for 5 minutes. You can do this every alternate day.
